Dierenpesions overvol
Were you able to find a place for your pet? The holidays are coming and many people bring their cat or dog to the pet boarding house. According to a tour of Omroep Gelderland, there is no room for new animals in most places. Only regular customers can get a spot.
Jet Broer van Jetdogs uit Zevenaar zegt dat haar pension helemaal vol zit tijdens de feestdagen. “Zowel tijdens kerst als Oud en Nieuw hebben we geen plaats meer voor nieuwe dieren”, aldus Broer. Ze verklaart dat dit komt omdat ze een kleinschalig pension heeft met slechts vijftien kennels. “De meeste van onze klanten zijn vaste klanten en hebben al in juli een plekje gereserveerd, omdat ze weten dat het aantal plaatsen beperkt is”, zegt Broer.
Bij Dierenpension Ouddijk in Didam en Dierenpension Van Gaalen in Beek is het precies hetzelfde: alle plaatsen zijn bezet en er is geen enkele plek meer vrij. Romy Strijbos van Dierenpension Van Gaalen zegt dat ze afgelopen weekend nog een laatste boeking had, maar dat ze op een gegeven moment moesten zeggen: “Tot hier en niet verder. Met de mensen die we nu beschikbaar hebben, zitten we aan het maximum.” Dit bevestigt dus het beeld dat veel dierenpensions vol zitten tijdens de Holidays.
Pets afraid of fireworks
Most pet boarding houses are extremely busy around the holidays. This is because many people bring their pets to boarding houses during this time because the animals are afraid of them firework or because their owners are going on vacation. In recent weeks, many guest houses have therefore had to tell potential customers that they no longer have room.
Jeanette Töpfer of Dierenpension Quimper along the A12 in Duiven says she still has some room for an emergency during Christmas, but she has had to tell potential customers a few times that she no longer has room for New Year's Eve. This therefore confirms the picture that many pensions are full during the holidays.
In Driel, Cat Hotel Figaro benefits from the fact that a few other guest houses in the area have closed. There are still a few places available, but they are already filling up quickly. This therefore confirms the picture that many guest houses are very busy around the holidays.
