Extinct pheasant pigeon rediscovered after 140 years

For the first time since 1882, the black-necked pheasant pigeon has appeared in Papua New Guinea! The bird has been considered extinct since the late 19th century. Therefore, very little is known about the species. Researchers hope to continue to gather more information to help protect the pheasant pigeons!
