Ban on keeping cats with folded ears and hairless cats

The government recently decided that, starting January 1, 2026, it will be prohibited to keep hairless cats, such as the Sphynx, and cats with folded ears, such as the Scottish Fold. This decision was made to improve the welfare of these animals, as their specific physical characteristics often lead to health problems and unnecessary suffering.
Hairless cats lack a protective coat, which means they are more susceptible to temperature fluctuations and more susceptible to disease.
